Jabir Kalai Kuni is a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng, MIEAust, RPEQ) with over 19 years of global experience in electrical engineering across India, Saudi Arabia, Brunei and Australia. Prior to joining SM Grid Partners, Jabir served as a Senior Grid Controls Planning Engineer at Powerlink Queensland where he played a pivotal role in seamless integration of over 5GW of inverter-based renewable energy into the grid.
Jabir specialises in grid connection studies, generator performance assessments, and ensured compliance with the National Electricity Rules (NER). His work leverages advanced tools like PSS/E, PSCAD and PowerFactory to model and validate grid performance, contributing to the stability and efficiency of the transmission network. He has led technical investigations into some of the most challenging power system instability/control interactions arising from inverter based and synchronous generators in the Queensland network. His technical expertise spans power system studies, protection coordination, arc flash analysis, solving complex challenges in renewable integration.
